To celebrate the closing of Alien Worlds and Androids at The Leonardo, we’re partnering with FamilyShare to launch our first ever Family Night at the Museum! We’ll be keeping the museum open from 5pm – 9pm on Monday, May 1st so that FamilyShare readers can enjoy family night while exploring the wonders of Alien Worlds and Androids.  For only $20 per family, creating family memories in the museum is sweeter than ever.

At Alien Worlds and Androids, Family Share readers and their entire family will come face-to-face with Iron Man, C3PO, R2-D2, learn about the Mars Rover Curiosity and experiment with the robotic technology used in deep sea and space exploration missions.  You’ll discover the answers to the highly debated question, “are we alone in the universe?”  During this event, guests will have the opportunity to explore all the other fascinating and captivating exhibits throughout the museum including FLIGHT, Leonardo’s Studio and Perception.

While exploring the museum, we will also have special activities just for family night designed to delight kids of all ages.  Family Night at the Museum is a one night only event.  Be sure to mark your calendars for May 1, 2017 and come create a family memory that will be talked about for years to come.

The question “are we alone in the universe” has fascinated mankind for centuries. From books to movies and everything in between, we’ve asked, studied and dissected this idea from every angle. With the advent of manned spaceflight in the mid-20th century, finding the answer to that question has become a tantalizing reality.

Inside this 5,000 square foot exhibit are nine themed environments that will immerse museum-goers in a wide variety of discoveries and theories on space travel and the possibility of life beyond the planet earth. There are hands on experiments, real live robots and so much more. You can even ride along with the Mars Rover as it scours the surface of our nearest planetary neighbor. It’s an experience that anyone who has dreamed of flying through the frontiers of space won’t want to miss.

As with any exhibit about space and technology, there are life-size models of some of the inspirations behind the kinds of robots and space crafts we use today. Inside the exhibit you’ll find a life-size C-3PO and R2-D2 from STAR WARS, an exact replica of Tony Stark’s IRON MAN suit, robots from the TERMINATOR movies and more! Since fiction can inform real life, it’s no wonder that so many of our inspirations come from those things that excite our imagination.

From deep-sea exploration to robotics and cyborgs, there is plenty to engage the imagination and ignite curiosity. With hands-on exhibits designed to bring this science to spectacular life, visitors will come away with a desire to look to the stars and see what’s out there.

A galaxy of possibilities
