Get hands on with the art of violin creation. Explore how simple elements combine with advanced mathematics to create one of the most beautiful and complex musical instruments. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the process of violin creation.

Activities Include: Learn how heat is used to bend wood. Handle all the elements of a violin before they’re assembled. Discover how mathematical formulas are used to determining the acoustic and mechanical properties of wood. Learn about different local woods used to create musical instruments. Learn rich history of violin varnishes.

All ages. Drop-in any time during regular museum hours. Free with purchase of museum admission.
