The Leonardo announced today that Steve and Barb Young have joined Scott Anderson and Dinesh Patel as co-chairs of the final leg of the science-tech-art center’s capital campaign. In this role, the Youngs will serve as advisors and supporters to The Leonardo team as they complete the campaign, and open the center to the public next April.

The Leonardo also announced that it, along with the Forever Young Foundation, will be the beneficiaries of the upcoming Steve Young Mountain Classic. This golf tournament brings professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, PGA and Major league Baseball together with members of the community to enrich the lives of young people in Utah and around the world. This year’s Mountain Classic will be held June 29 at the Red Ledges Golf Club in Heber City.

“The Leonardo is coming to Utah. Wow!” said the Youngs. “We are both honored to co-chair the Countdown to The Leonardo Campaign and celebrate the grand opening on Leonardo’s 558th birthday next year. While The Leonardo would be at home in New York or San Francisco, Utah, with its tradition for innovation in technology and creativity in the arts is the perfect place. This is the year of The Leonardo for Utah. We are looking forward to working with The Leo team!”

“The Young’s legacy of leadership and giving in this and other communities throughout the world is truly amazing,” said Scott Anderson, president and CEO of Zions Bank and campaign co-chair. “The Leonardo has already made strong headway towards completing the capital campaign, and we expect to gather as the Youngs join in supporting the effort. This is the beginning of a relationship that we know will benefit both The Leonardo and the Forever Young Foundation immensely. We are honored to welcome them to the team.”
