Radiation Around Us

Radiation is truly all around us. With the Radiation Around Us exhibit, students will be able to use a geiger counter to determine the radioactivity of various substances.  Students can also experiment with the shielding potential of plastic, steel and lead by using plates of the different materials to try and block the three main types of radiation - alpha, beta and gamma.
