Hesse brings extensive curatorial, project management, and marketing experience in the arts, culture, and entertainment sectors to The Leonardo. Hesse managed the Stills Gallery in Sydney, Australia, where she oversaw educational programming, external partner relationships, touring and loans, and licensing agreements. Before that, Hesse worked as a project manager for Salt Lake Organizing Committee Creative Services during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, and as project/exhibits manager for the Olympic Co-Ordination Authority in Sydney, Australia. She was instrumental in conceiving and bringing BODY WORLDS 3 to The Leonardo, and served as the Project Director.
The role of the senior advisor at The Leonardo is to inform the overall mission of fusing science, technology, and art in experiences that inspire creativity and innovation. Dr. Mario Capecchi serves as a visionary expert for reviewing the programming and exhibits in The Leonardo. In this capacity and along with his staff, he provides advice on The Leonardo's plans through periodic meetings, generates ideas and suggestions on concepts and intellectual resources to fulfill the mission, and works closely with The Leonardo to bring real science from the labs at the University of Utah to the community.

The science advisor is a dedicated position created to recognize the investment and efforts of Dr. Joe Andrade, founder of the Utah Science Center and major contributor to The Leonardo project since its earliest inception. As science advisor, Dr. Andrade provides insight and suggestions for the ongoing development of the museum's science and technology content.
