Exhibit Preview: Chances Are

Chances Are provides an in-depth look at normal distribution curves.

Chances Are

Participants roll two dice and record each total on an electronic tallying board. As you collect data a pattern will emerge based on the laws of probability. With the simple roll of dice, students will have the opportunity to analyze data, learn valuable lessons in probability and gain a better understanding of the importance of replication in scientific studies.

Interactive Demonstration

How many rolls will it take to fill one column up to 25? to 50? What does the curve behind the columns represent and what is its relation to the numbers you're rolling?
