Exhibit Preview: Topography and Weather

Mountain ranges and valleys of Utah create daily breezes and interact with large air masses that travel from the Pacific Ocean and Canada. In certain situations, the terrain can channel air and create tornadoes and land spouts.

Topography and Weather

Topography and Weather gives you the opportunity to see how fog interacts with various landscapes. While working with this exhibit you can create your own mountains and valleys by manipulating the rubber mat.  You can then observe how the simulated mountain breeze flows over and around different types of terrain. This exhibit builds a deeper understanding of the interplay between topography and weather.
